When the Universe Answers Immediately

You know, I have always been curious about how karma settles its debts with those who have wronged me, caused me pain, or deliberately done something cruel to me. Usually, I cut such people out of my life immediately, so I never find out what happens to them after the damage has been done. Because I believe in karma, I don’t retaliate or try to hurt them in return. I trust that, sooner or later, they will receive exactly what they deserve.
Recently, however, I discovered just how quickly and effectively karma can work when it joins forces with an intention clearly formed in the mind. It wasn’t that someone had deeply hurt or wounded me this time, as people have done many times throughout my life. It would be more accurate to say that I was furious because someone had treated me in a way I found completely unacceptable.
Before I continue, I want to make one thing clear: I am telling this story exactly as I see it. I am speaking about what I believe, and to me, it is both truth and fact. Whether you personally choose to believe in it is entirely up to you. I am not trying to convince anyone of anything or prove that certain forces exist.
Many people will probably dismiss what happened as a fortunate coincidence. I don’t see it that way, because I have experienced far too many of these “coincidences”—especially those connected to the power of thought—to believe that they are merely random.
This happened while I was still working at the club, right around the time when everything there began to fall apart and I started earning less and less money. During that period, I had an arrangement to accompany someone on a trip to Las Vegas. It was escorting in the traditional sense of the word—accompanying someone and keeping them company, with no sexual services involved. I hate how the word escort has become almost synonymous with prostitution, because they are not inherently the same thing.
But back to the story.
We had made the arrangement almost two months before the trip. The tickets had been purchased, and the hotel had already been booked. Then, approximately two weeks before the trip, he messaged me to say that he now had a girlfriend and that she wanted to go to Vegas with him, so he would no longer be able to meet me there.
Why did this make me so angry?
First of all, the way the message was written sounded incredibly childish—especially coming from a grown man who was older than me. Second, what we had was essentially a business agreement. And third, at that particular moment, I was counting on the money I was supposed to earn from the trip.
I was furious. I was also simply exhausted by men who make promises and then fail to keep their word. The old version of me would have stayed silent. But the new version of me had recently decided to start telling people exactly what I thought instead of keeping everything inside, because everything left unsaid eventually eats me alive from within. So I told him exactly how I felt. And in my mind, I wished for his trip to go so terribly that he would regret the way he had treated me.
Later that same night, he transferred the money I had been supposed to receive for the trip. That softened me, of course—but once energy has been sent out into the universe, I cannot simply call it back.
Eventually, the day of his trip arrived. He was already in Vegas when he messaged me, which I honestly hadn’t expected. As it turned out, he had ended up going alone, so he wasn’t exactly having the wonderful time he had anticipated. He had traveled to Vegas for a poker tournament, and in addition to being there by himself, he lost a considerable amount of money. According to him, it was the largest amount he had ever lost throughout all the years he had been playing poker—and, if I remember correctly, he had been playing for around seven years. And that’s not even counting the money he had already spent on my airfare, his girlfriend’s airfare, and my hotel room—all of which had gone to waste as well.
I had only one word in response: karma.
Karma, combined with the manifestation of the intention I had sent out into the universe.
Some people will call it a coincidence. I don’t. I believe the universe always hears us. Not everyone’s thoughts carry the same power, and not everyone knows how to formulate an intention clearly enough for it to manifest.
According to the laws of karma, every action has consequences, and whatever a person sends out into the world eventually finds its way back to them. Yet those consequences rarely come through the same person they once hurt. That is why so many people fail to recognize that what they are experiencing now may be an echo of their own actions in the past.
At this point, some people may be thinking: if I wished for something bad to happen to someone else, then by those same rules, shouldn’t I face karmic consequences myself? No. I did not wish evil upon him, nor did I wish for something bad to happen for no reason. What I wished for was the restoration of the very balance he had disturbed. It was not even an action—I had no intention of actually doing anything to him. It was a single thought, nothing more.
It’s just… the universe always restores the balance.
